Sujit Choudhry said at the conference that the main reason why Ukraine is in its current state is that the country has followed the semi-presidential system for many years. For any country to have a robust and decisive leadership, it has to have a leader. However, with the semi-presidential system, the country’s leadership and its power have been diluted. It led to many political conflicts internally that eventually surfaced and caused tension and panic among the country’s population as well. Sujit Choudhry said that Ukraine is in dire need of constitutional reforms as it is what would help in bringing power back to the government and gain the trust of its people. He believes that many of the legal changes are needed in its electoral process as well, which so far has not been transparent as per public’s judgment. provides related articles worth reading.
